Mountain Wedding at Bärghuis Jochpass | Engelberg, Switzerland

Sometimes things don’t go as planned – and then you realize that’s exactly how it was meant to be. Viktoria & Cedric got married at the end of August on the Jochpass in Engelberg, high above Lake Trübsee, in the cozy Bärghuis. We had all been hoping for sunshine, but instead we were met with fog and occasional rain. Within minutes, the thick grey mist would give way to breathtaking mountain views, only to close in again. And yet, it was absolutely beautiful.

The First Look was a pretty wet one, but nothing could stop these two. Thankfully, Esther from Stör Frisör was still around for a quick “second Getting Ready”. We had to blow-dry not only the bride’s hair, but also the dress. Luckily, we had planned plenty of extra time. The outdoor ceremony had to be cancelled, but that didn’t dampen the mood at all. Jonas (Liebe Feiern) led the ceremony and told their story in such a heartfelt and humorous way that I didn’t have to look far to catch those emotional tear-wiping moments.

And finally, after a long aperitif in the ever-changing mountain weather, we caught a lucky break: a short, dry window with even a little bit of sunshine. We used it for a quick couple shoot, and those photos are definitely among my personal highlights of this year.
